It would probably be a good idea to let their past teachers have some input. Thank you for suggesting that.

Mary - The Aware data that I mentioned is the TAKS data. I will adjust the wording so that everyone knows that too. The students that I am studying will take TAKS until they graduate. I am hopeful that the results of my study will transfer to the STAAR test. That might be my next action research wondering??? :) I'm not sure which personality test to use with them yet. I was wondering if the one we did in our first class would be good for them to take. What do you think? As for getting help from others...I will continue to work on that. I have a hard time giving up that part of the control, when my name is plastered all over this. Thank you so much for the time you spent looking over my plan.

Leisa - I will have to use class time to survey the students. Generally, the first couple of days are not instructional due to us being in homeroom to fill out paperwork and such (we generally have shorter class periods). I planned on using that time to do my surveys of all students. I think it might allow me to know all of my students better.

Patricia - I posted on your blog. We definitely need to keep in touch.

Good luck everyone! :)KristiKristiGuesthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12139368100436298981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6946212363391313594.post-79014974129406820272011-08-06T14:54:15.674-07:002011-08-06T14:54:15.674-07:00Kristi, your research is really similar to mine. I am currently revising mine, so I will be posting the revision sometime today or tomorrow, please check my blog and give me some feedback.pmaciashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990626791081711228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6946212363391313594.post-43590237004703474252011-08-05T09:33:29.012-07:002011-08-05T09:33:29.012-07:00I really like the thought that you put into this p...I really like the thought that you put into this plan. It is very ambitious. How do you plan to survey your students? Will the surveys take up instructional time or will they be done in an advisory class? I am asking because I too am including a survey in my plan and still have a few kinks to work out in the details. Good luck and I look forward to following your blog.Leisa B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15313761921812116919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6946212363391313594.post-37627573797062965652011-08-05T05:08:08.688-07:002011-08-05T05:08:08.688-07:00Kristi, I took my time to really look through you...Kristi, I took my time to really look through your plan. I have some thoughts.
I love the idea of using clickers in class for your survey!!!!! Great use of technology in the classroom! In your second post, resource section, you might include TAKS data/scores since they are a resource for your spreadsheet. It will help you remember to collect those from the people you need to get them from. I might suggest thinking of people in the Curriculum Team that might assist you with some of the tasks. I know I usually like to do everything but I am learning to involve more people so that they are connected and feel they contribute to the process.
Will you there be TAKS 2012 scores or STAAR 2012 scores? Since I am not in the school system, I am not sure if there will still be some TAKS scores? Maybe for retesters?
Another thing I LOVED was the personality test? Do you know which one and how you will share that information with the students and the teachers? I think it will be one of your strong assets in your plan if students fully understand their results and to use them in their education.
I hope this is not too much. I know it is Friday and we are to use this information in our assignment. Good luck and I look forward to following your research.Mary Thrasherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07846347992635082671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6946212363391313594.post-28663725839259481342011-08-05T05:03:46.966-07:002011-08-05T05:03:46.966-07:00Kristi-
